To distribute our investment funds to our clients, Nordea Asset Management’s Institutional and Wealth Distribution (IWD) division has local sales units in countries across the world. Our local sales teams are supported by three hubs in Copenhagen (investment management and research), Luxembourg (client service, product specialists and marketing) and Lisbon (client service, operations and reporting).
For our Belgian office in Brussels (Anderlecht), we are currently looking for a

Junior Sales Manager

who will work in support of the two Belgian Sales Directors to ensure proper preparation and follow-up of the local commercial activities. The successful candidate will work closely together with the Benelux Client Relationship Services Manager in Luxembourg and will be supported in its day-to-day activities by our Client Servicing Support team in Lisbon. The Belgian sales team is servicing large Belgian investors such as retail and private banks, wealth managers, family offices, insurance companies and pension funds. The Belgian team has an important position in the market of investment insurance contracts with a strong local presence across local insurance brokers and financial advisors.

The role combines after-sales client servicing with a supportive involvement in the direct sales process. This role can be regarded as a jumpstart for a specialized sales career and provides an excellent opportunity to discover the functioning of the asset management industry. We run the Belgian sales desk as a local flagship boutique: we are passionate and knowledgeable about the products in our shop, we have the local flexibility to be entrepreneurial and creative within a small team and we are ambassadors of a respected brand that strive to win.

Your responsibilities

  • Act as overall operational/administrative/commercial support for the sales team and ensure a high level of client satisfaction through effective service delivery, prompt issue resolution, and proactive communication
  • Own the incoming client queries and ensure timely and high quality responses
  • Collaborate with different internal teams (product management, legal, compliance, finance, reporting, portfolio management) to resolve more complex queries
  • Manage the operational journey of the client accounts in line with the agreed service needs and the internal procedures
  • Participate to fairs and industry events
  • Organize local client events from invitation to follow-up and participate during events and client meetings as commercial support and to strengthen your product knowledge
  • Support the client mapping, lead generation and market penetration activities for the segment of brokers and individual financial advisors (IFA)
  • Support the execution of product campaigns and sales and retention efforts through the organization of client roadshows and mailings and by assisting with the preparation of marketing materials and presentations
  • Ensure accuracy of client information in the CRM system
  • Support with adhoc translation requests (EN-NL)

Your profile

  • You have obtained a master degree, preferably in economics or business
  • You have preferably a first experience (0-3 years) in a commercial unit and/or in the financial sector
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English (both in speaking and writing), fluency in French is considered an asset.
  • You are passionate about financial markets and the macroeconomic environment and you have a basic understanding of financial terminology and products
  • You have a positive can-do mindset and you are naturally curious and eager to learn
  • You have a strong team spirit and you are ready to work in a small local team and to liaise with colleagues across the organization
  • You are easy going with a service oriented and commercial mindset and you have strong interpersonal skills
  • You would feel at ease to speak for an audience and you like commercial story telling
  • You are accurate with an eye for detail and you are committed to achieve high-standards.
  • You possess great initiative and organization skills, with the ability to effectively set priorities.
